Slavic Partnerships?

We have had the privilege of meeting with a friend, and partner in ministry, from the California Southern Baptist Convention.  Dr. Anthony (Tony) Ahaev

Dr. Ahaev with his wife, Victoria, and brother, Victor.
was raised in Argentina but migrated, along with his Russian/Ukrainian family to the USA.  Although the Lord led him into ministry and church planting in the USA he has been returning frequently to Argentina to help with a Slavic Bible Institute in Buenos Aires.  Eric was able to have some meetings with Tony, and a key elder/pastor within the Slavic churches to talk about partnerships.

Asado with Slavic brothers and sisters
Tony and the local pastor invited Eric to an "asado" (barbecue cookout) at the Bible Institute last night, and allowed him the opportunity to cast a vision for reaching the lost in the Patagonia.  Eric was blessed to meet a young Russian man who has felt called to move his family to Ushuaia (at the southern tip of the Patagonia region, Ushuaia is the southern-most city in the world) to plant churches.  Please lift up this family as they prepare to move there before the end of the year and for continued opportunities to help equip/train/partner with this dear family.  Eric was also able to meet several other students, and had a few good visits with people interested in the work down south.  It is our prayer that the Lord of the harvest would continue to lead more workers to the Patagonia.  There is much work to be done there for His kingdom!

By the way, on the way to the meeting last night, Eric, Olivia, and Elias encountered a protest in the middle of the road.  The kids said they didn't know what all the protesting was about but that the people were burning fires to block the entire highway.
